The Legal & Compliance Strategy and Transformation Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the ongoing transformation of ASML's Legal & Compliance ("L&C") Department. This position ensures the function is future-ready, agile, technology-enabled, business-integrated, and strategically positioned to deliver measurable value.
This role reports to the Head of Legal Operations, Strategy Execution, Chief of Staff and contributes to designing and executing the L&C Operations & Strategy Execution Framework, coordinates the definition of the L&C Vision & Strategy 2030, and translates it into actionable results. This role also demonstrates the ROI of L&C initiatives, oversees digital transformation efforts, and highlights the strategic value that Legal & Compliance brings to the enterprise, positioning L&C as a critical enabler of business growth and competitive advantage.
Role and responsibilities
Strategy
- Facilitate the definition of L&C Business Priorities and Objectives in alignment with the Chief Legal Officer's vision and ASML Strategy; translate strategy into "who does what."
- Drive and track execution of L&C Priorities and Objectives, ensuring operational coordination and alignment, through the definition and coordination of relevant initiatives (i.e. OKRs).
- Facilitate strategy communication across the L&C organization and support L&C sub-teams in developing their objectives, acting as trusted partner.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment through continuous alignment and coordination with counterparts in other sectors
- Organize periodic reporting of strategy execution to the Head of L&C Operations and Strategy Execution and Chief Legal Officer.
Transformation
Value Demonstration & ROI Measurement
- Apply a comprehensive ROI framework measuring L&C impact across: revenue acceleration, expenses reduced, hours saved, cost avoided, quality of work, and quality of life.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that quantify L&C's contribution to business outcomes, positioning L&C as a strategic business enabler.
Service Delivery Optimization & Transformation
- Drive the definition and implement the Legal Vision & Strategy 2030 for transitioning to an evolved Operating Model, collaborating with senior L&C leaders to enhance how we work.
- Design and implement optimized service delivery models, including ALSPs, managed services, and centers of excellence, in collaboration with the rest of the Legal Operations and Strategy Execution Team.
Technology & Digitalization
- Oversee the roadmap for digital transformation of Legal, focusing on technology and AI integration in close collaboration with the Legal & Compliance AI lead.
- Oversee the identification and championing of emerging legal technologies (CLM, matter management, e-billing, AI tools), driving adoption and change management to maximize ROI and lead to the evolution of the L&C professionals.
L&C Operations & Strategy Execution Framework
- Be a senior member of the Legal Operations and Strategy Execution Team
- Contribute to implementation of the L&C Operations & Strategy Execution Framework Program, including Organizational Design, Service Delivery Models, Talent Development, and Innovation Management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the L&C organization.
Education and experience
- 10+ years of experience in Strategy Management, Legal Operations, or Legal Transformation, preferably within a large, complex, multinational organization.
- Familiarity with legal technology (CLM, matter management, AI tools) and demonstrated ability to measure and communicate ROI of strategic initiatives.
- Experience in Legal & Compliance matters, legal technology, process optimization, and operating model design
